What have we been doing?
We are quite familiar with Polkadot and Substrate, because ChainX had been built as the first public chain on Substrate framework and the first inter-chain project to explore on Polkadot. Our Bitcoin light-client bridge has been operating steadily for a full year since being launched.
We have known about IPFS and Filecoin for several years. Both whitepapers of the earliest Chinese version were translated by one of our team members. Even it’s been 4 years since we translated the whitepaper of IPFS, we are still very excited about the grand vision of IPFS and Filecoin.
What do we want？
we want to connect Filecoin and Polkadot, Because there are important digital assets like BTC on ChainX and storage mining in Filecoin, so in the foreseeable future, BTC on ChainX can work as a payment method of Filecoin storage, and the other remaining assets can be run on Polkadot.
Connecting Filecoin and Polkadot is undoubtably very challenging and technically difficult but also proven to be worthy if achieved, we have explored the development of BTC parachain with shareable experience,
What have been done?
We have been focusing on IPFS and Filecoin since the beginning of the spring this year because we believe IPFS’s ambitious vision achievable and Filecoin’s consensus ingeniously innovative; what’s more, filcoin is part of the storage mining market to which capitals are drawn, so joining Filecoin’s ecosystem equals embarking on a path to profitability both spiritually and practically.
The tough nut to crack is the completion of the two networks Filecoin and Polkadot themselves, which concerns us most. Only after the two star projects are completed and implemented can we put the option of a parachain on the table. So the real challenge falls on the development of Dot and FIL
To connect Filecoin and Polkadot, both of them have to be quite operational. Currently we have to wait for the further progress of these two projects to start working on our long term goal.
